Spiritual professions are thought as professions whose duties must:
- Mainly connect with a normal function that is religious
- Be thought to be an occupation that is religious the denomination; and
- Be mainly linked to, and clearly include, inculcating or holding out of the creed that is religious philosophy associated with denomination.
Spiritual vocations usually do not consist of mainly administrative or help positions such as for instance janitors, maintenance workers, clerical employees, or fund-raisers or similar roles entirely associated with soliciting contributions. Restricted administrative duties which can be just incidental to spiritual functions are permissible.
Spiritual research or training for spiritual work will not represent a spiritual career, however a spiritual worker may pursue research or training incidental to R-1 status.
Ministers are thought as people who are duly authorized because of the spiritual denomination to that they belong, and generally are fully trained based on the denomination’s requirements to conduct spiritual worship along with other duties often done because of the clergy.
